This guide is for replacing the logic board on the iPhone 8.

Step 1

Before disassembling the logic board on the iPhone 8, you have to turn it off.

Press the power button on the right side of the phone for a few seconds.

Then slide to the right to power off.

Step 2

With a pentalobe screwdriver in the standard tool kit, remove the two screws at the bottom of the iPhone.

Those screws are located on each side of the dock connector.

They secure the bottom part of the iPhone 8 frame.

With the hair dryer, heat up the edges of the iPhone 8.

This will soften the seal between the screen and the frame.

Note : Heat up a little bit more the top part of the screen to make it easier to remove.

Step 3

Insert an opening pick in the bottom left part of the phone and slide it around the phone.

Repeat that step on the left and right side of the phone.

Step 4

Grab and gently lift the screen.

Gently pull the screen back.

Step 5

Open the screen as you would open a book. Careful not to tear the three cables linked to the logic board.

Step 6

With the cruciform screwdriver, remove the four screws securing the LCD screen bracket.

Step 7

Grab the connectors bracket and remove it

Step 8

With the nylon spudger, disconnect the battery.

Unlock the LCD/Touch screen cable.

Step 9

Keep the nylon spudger and disconnect the Force Touch sensor and home button cable.

Step 10

With a cruciform screwdriver, remove the three screws circled in red securing the front camera/earpiece speaker/proximity sensor cable connectors.

Step 11

Grab that bracket with a pair of tweezers and remove it.  

Step 12

Disconnect the front camera/earpiece speaker/proximity sensor with the nylon spudger.

The screen of your iPhone 8 is now disassembled.

Step 13

Use the flat screwdriver and remove the big screw circld in red (picture 1).

Keep using the cruciform screwdriver and remove the second screw circled in red (picture 2)

Step 14

Grab the rear camera bracket and remove it.

Step 15

Disconnect the rear camera cable with the nylon spudger.

Step 16

Pry on the right side of the rear camera with the spudger.

Remove it with a pair of tweezers.

Step 17

The rear camera of the iPhone 8 is now disassembled.

Step 18

With a cruciform screwdriver, remove the two screws circled in red securing the WiFi antenna.

Step 19

Disconnect the WiFi antenna with the nylon spudger.

Peel and remove it with the spudger.

Step 20

The iPhone 8 WiFi antenna is now disassembled.

Step 21

Remove the big screw circled in red (picture 2) with a flat screwdriver.

Then remove the cruciform screw circled in red (picture 2).

Now remove the two screws securing the power cable bracket (picture 3).

Then finish by removing the four screws circled in red that secure the GPS antenna (picture 4).

Step 22

Grab the GPS antenna and remove it with a pair of tweezers.

Step 23

Remove the two screws circled in red on the picture with a cruciform screwdriver..

Step 24

Grab the bracket and remove it.

Step 25

With the nylon spudger, disconnect the power/volume button cable and the NFC cable.

Step 26

Disconnect the two cables with the nylon spudger : dock connector and GSM antenna.

Step 27

With a flat screwdriver, remove the big screw circled in red securing the logic board.

Step 28

Insert the SIM card eject tool in the hole and push to extract the tray.

Remove the SIM card tray.

Step 29

Gently grab the logic board on the top and remove it.

Step 30

The logic board of your iPhone 8 is now disassembled.

You can replace it with a new one if needed.
