Before disassembling the rear case of your iPhone 5S, you have to securely turn it off.
Maintain the power button on the top for a few seconds. Then slide to the right to "power off" button in red.
Then press the iSlack to remove it .
Don't remove the screen just yet, it is still attached by a few cables, the home button/touch id cable being one of them.
Tip : If your screen is broken or cracked, we suggest that you put some tape to cover the screen in order to remove it more easily.
A metal bracket is on the home button cable.
Remove it with a pair of tweezers.
Use the nylon spudger to disconnect the home button cable.
Gently lift the display assembly to a 90° angle as shown on pictures 1 and 2.
Remove the four screws circled in red with a cruciform screwdriver.
Those screws secure the screen connector bracket.
Make sure to remember the spot of each screw. They have different characteristics. You have to put them back into their original spot.
Use the pair of tweezers and remove the screen connector bracket.
Use the spudger to disconnect :
- The front camera/microphone/earpiece speaker/light and promixity sensor cable
- The LCD screen cable.
Still with a nylon spudger, disconnect the Touch screen cable.
Then grab the display assembly and remove it.
The complete display is now disassembled on the iPhone 5S.
With a cruciform screwdriver, remove the two cruciform screw circled in red.
Those screws maintain the battery connector bracket and the dock connector.
Use a pair of tweezers to remove the bracket connector.
Use a nylon spudger to disconnect the following cables :
- Battery connection cable,
- Back camera connection cable.
Still using a nylon spudger, disconnect the dock connector.
With the spudger, disconnect the power and volume buttons cable.
With a spudger, disconnect the GSM antenna.
Use a SIM card tool eject and insert it in the SIM card hole. Push to eject.
The SIM card tray is on the right side of the iPhone 5S.
Grab the SIM card tray and remove it.
Peel off the black tape on the logic board's top .
Remove the 7 screws holding the logic board of the iPhone 5S :
one 2.4mm screw, circled in red on the picture,
two 2.8mm cruciform screws, circled in orange on the picture,
four rivet type screws, circled in green on the picture.
To make it more easier, we advise that you use a flathead screwdriver to remove the 4 rivet type screws.
Use a nylon spudger to gently lift the logic board.
Then flip the logic board toward the battery as shown on picture 4.
Do not remove it just yet, it is still connected to the iPhone 5S by the WiFi antenna
Use the spudger to disconnect the WiFi antenna.
Then remove the logic board.
The logic board of your iPhone 5S is now disassembled.
With a cruciform screwdriver, remove the four screws circled in red holding the speaker.
Remove it.
The speaker is now disassembled.
Use a cruciform screwdriver to remove the four screws circled in red.
Those screws maintain the LCD screen clips to the right side of the phone.
Use tweezers to grab and remove the first clip.
The right clip is now disassembled.
Do it all over again for the second clip.
The two right side clips are now disassembled.
Use a nylon spudger and gently take off the battery.
Grab the battery and remove it.
The battery of the iPhone 5S is now disassembled.
Use a cruciform screwdriver to remove the four screws circled in red holding the clips on the left side of the phone.
then remove the first clip with tweezers.
The first clip on the left s.
Then repeat that step for the second clip.
The left side clips of your phone are now disassembled.
Use the cruciform screwdriver and remove the three screws circled in red.
Those screws maintain the phone's dock connector.
Grab and remove the dock connector.
The dock connector of the iPhone 5S is now disassembled.
Use a cruciform screwdriver and remove the screw circled in red.
This screw holds the SIM card tray eject lever.
then grab it and remove it with a pair of tweezers.
An adhesive covers the WiFi antenna. Grab and remove it with a pair of tweezers.
Use a cruciform screwdriver to remove the screws circled in red.
Those screws maintain the back camera bracket.
Then use a pair of tweezers to lift the black back camera bracket.
With tweezers, grab the back camera and remove it.
Then still with a pair of tweezers the metal bracket on the left side of the camera and remove it.
Use a cruciform screwdriver and remove the screws circled in red.
Those screws hold the vibra ring switch bracket.
Remove it with a pair of tweezers.
Use the cruciform screwdriver and remove the screw circled in red.
This screw maintains the vibrator to the rear panel.
With a pair of tweezers, remove it.
With a cruciform screwdriver, remove the two screws circled in red.
Those screws maintain the volume buttons bracket.
With the nylon spduger, gently push it against the rear panel.
Use the spudger's tip to push the volume buttons.
With tweezers, grab and remove them.
Still with a nylon spudger, grab and remove the vibrator.
Grab the power button bracket and remove it.
Use the cruciform screwdriver and remove the two screws circled in red. Gently take off the volume/vibrate ring/power/flash buttons cable.
Remove the volume/vibrate ring/power/flash buttons cable.
With the spudger's tip, gently push in the power button form its socket.
Remove it with a pair of tweezers.
The power button of your iPhone 5S is now disassembled.
With a nylon spudger, peel off the WiFi antenna and remove it.
The rear case of your iPhone 5S is now disassembled.
You can replace it by a new one.
