Before disassembling the power, volume vibrate switch buttons cable of your iPhone 5S, you have to securely turn it off.
Maintain the power button on the top for a few seconds. Then slide to the right to "power off" button in red.
Open the handles of the iSclack, this will pull the front panel to 2 to 3cm.
Do not remove the screen, it is still linked to the home button cable / touch ID among others.
Tips : If the screen is cracked or broken, suggest that you lay clear packing tape over the iPhone's display until the whole front face is covered in order to open is more easily.
A metal bracket covers the home button cable.
With a pair of tweezers, remove it.
Use the nylon spudger to disconnect the home button cable.
Gently lift the display assembly to a 90° angle as shown on pictures 1 and 2.
Remove the four screws circled in red with a cruciform screwdriver.
Those screws secure the screen connector bracket.
Make sure to remember the spot of each screw. They have different characteristics. You have to put them back into their original spot.
Use the pair of tweezers and remove the screen connector bracket.
Use the spudger to disconnect :
- The front camera/microphone/earpiece speaker/light and promixity sensor cable
- The LCD screen cable.
Still with a nylon spudger, disconnect the Touch screen cable.
Then grab the display assembly and remove it.
The complete display is now disassembled on the iPhone 5S.
With a cruciform screwdriver, remove the two cruciform screw circled in red.
Those screws maintain the battery connector bracket and the dock connector.
Use a pair of tweezers to remove the bracket connector.
Use a nylon spudger to disconnect the following cables :
- Battery connection cable,
- Back camera connection cable.
Still using a nylon spudger, disconnect the dock connector.
Disconnect the power/volume button cable with a nylon spudger.
Then use its tip to disconnect the GSM antenna.
Use a SIM card tool eject and insert it in the SIM card hole. Push to eject.
The SIM card tray is on the right side of the iPhone 5S.
Grab the SIM card tray and remove it.
Peel off the black tape on the logic board's top .
Remove the 7 screws holding the logic board of the iPhone 5S :
one 2.4mm screw, circled in red on the picture,
two 2.8mm cruciform screws, circled in orange on the picture,
four rivet type screws, circled in green on the picture.
To make it more easier, we advise that you use a flathead screwdriver to remove the 4 rivet type screws.
Use a nylon spudger to gently lift the logic board.
Then flip the logic board toward the battery as shown on picture 4.
Do not remove it just yet, it is still connected to the iPhone 5S by the WiFi antenna
Use the spudger to disconnect the WiFi antenna.
Remove the logic board.
The logic board of the iPhone 5S is now disassembled.
Use a nylon spudger and put it under the battery, pry and lift the battery.
This can take quite some time if there is a lot of glue use by Apple underneath.
Make sure not to damage the battery when removing it !
Grab the battery and remove it.
The battery of the iPhone 5S is now disassembled.
Use the spudger's tip to remove the rubber back camera bracket.
Use a pair of tweezers and remove the back camera of your iPhone 5S.
With a cruciform screwdriver, remove the two screws circled in red.
Those screws maintain the power/volume button cable metal bracket .
Still with tweezers, grab the bracket and remove it.
With tweezers, remove the black sticker near the power button .
Use a cruciform screwdriver to remove the screw circled in red.
This screw maintain the metal bracket of the power/volume button cable on the right side.
With tweezers, remove the metal bracket which has been unscrewed in the last step.
Grab it and remove it from its socket.
To avoid loosing the power button, we advise that you remove it.
With the nylon spudger's tip, slightly push in the power button.
Remove it with tweezers.
Use the spudger's tip to open and remove the power button metal bracket.
Use a cruciform screwdriver to remove the screws circled in red.
Those screws maintain the vibrator bracket to the iPhone 5S.
Then use tweezers, grab and remove the vibrator metal bracket.
With a cruciform screwdriver, remove the three screws on the left part of the phone.
Those screws maintain the volume and ring switch buttons.
With the spudger's tip, gently push in the volume button and ring switch.
Still with the spudger, take away the ring switch and volume button from the iPhone 5S rear panel.
With the cruciform screwdriver, remove the screw circled in red which maintain the phone's vibrator.
Then you can grab and remove it from the iPhone 5S.
With the spudger's tip, gently peel off the adhesive holding the vibrator contact part of the upper assembly cable from the rear case.
Use the spudger to lift the power/vibrator/volume button cable.
Then you can grab the cable and remove it.
The power/vibrator/volume button cable of your iPhone 5S is now disassembled.
You can replace it by a new one.
