Before disassembling the LCD shield plate of your iPhone 5S, you have to securely turn it off.
Maintain the power button on the top for a few seconds. Then slide to the right to "power off" button in red.
Then press the iSlack to remove it .
Don't remove the screen just yet, it is still attached by a few cables, the home button/touch id cable being one of them.
Tip : If your screen is broken or cracked, we suggest that you put some tape to cover the screen in order to remove it more easily.
A metal bracket is on the home button cable.
Remove it with a pair of tweezers.
Use the nylon spudger to disconnect the home button cable.
Gently lift the display assembly to a 90° angle as shown on pictures 1 and 2.
Remove the four screws circled in red with a cruciform screwdriver.
Those screws secure the screen connector bracket.
Make sure to remember the spot of each screw. They have different characteristics. You have to put them back into their original spot.
Use the pair of tweezers and remove the screen connector bracket.
Use the spudger to disconnect :
- The front camera/microphone/earpiece speaker/light and promixity sensor cable
- The LCD screen cable.
Still with a nylon spudger, disconnect the Touch screen cable.
Then grab the display assembly and remove it.
The complete display is now disassembled on the iPhone 5S.
With the cruciform screwdriver, remove the two screws circled in red.
Those screws maintain the metal earpiece speaker bracket.
As shown on pictures, use the spudger's tip to unclip the earpiece speaker bracket.
You can then grab the bracket with a pair of tweezers and remove it.
With a pair of tweezers, grab the earpiece speaker and remove it.
The earpiece speaker is now disassembled.
With a nylon spduger, gently peel off the front camera/light and proximity sensor cable.
You can then remove it as shown on pictures.
Then grab the cable and peel the black adhesive tape.
Then remove the cable.
The front camera/light and proximity sensor cable is now disassembled.
Remove the 4 screws circled in red on picture 1 and 2, using a cruciform screwdriver.
Once of the screws is hidden under the home button cable.
Those screws maintain the home button and the metal LCD shield plate.
Use tweezers again, grab and remove the home button bracket.
Then gently push in the home button from its socket.
Use a pair of tweezers to grab and remove the home button.
The home button is now disassembled.
Remove the four screws holding the LCD shield plate : 2 cruciform screws are on the right side and the 2 other screws are on the left side.
Then remove the metal plate with tweezers.
The LCD shield plate is now disassembled.
You can replace it by a new one.
