Before disassembling the home button of your iPhone 5S, you have to securely turn it off.
Maintain the power button on the top for a few seconds. Then slide to the right to "power off" button in red.
Then press the iSlack to remove it .
Don't remove the screen just yet, it is still attached by a few cables, the home button/touch id cable being one of them.
Tip : If your screen is broken or cracked, we suggest that you put some tape to cover the screen in order to remove it more easily.
A metal bracket is on the home button cable.
Remove it with a pair of tweezers.
Use the nylon spudger to disconnect the home button cable.
Gently lift the display assembly to a 90° angle as shown on pictures 1 and 2.
Remove the four screws circled in red with a cruciform screwdriver.
Those screws secure the screen connector bracket.
Make sure to remember the spot of each screw. They have different characteristics. You have to put them back into their original spot.
Use the pair of tweezers and remove the screen connector bracket.
Use the spudger to disconnect :
- The front camera/microphone/earpiece speaker/light and promixity sensor cable
- The LCD screen cable.
Still with a nylon spudger, disconnect the Touch screen cable.
Then grab the display assembly and remove it.
The complete display is now disassembled on the iPhone 5S.
Use the cruciform screwdriver to remove the three screws circled in red (pictures 1 and 2).
With the pair of tweezers, grab the home button bracket and remove it.
The home button bracket is now removed.
Then gently push in the home button away from the front panel .
Grab the home button with the pair of tweezers and remove it.
The home button of your iPhone 5S is now disassembled.
You can replace it by a new one.
