Before disassembling the buttons L1,L2, R1 & R2 of the Dualshock 4 joystick (Playstation 4), for obvious safety reasons, you have to unplug the video game console.
With a cruciform screwdriver, remove the four screws circled in red.
Those screws secure the rear case of the joystick.
Still with the iSesamo, keep opening the joystick on the right this time and pry as shown on the picture.
Grab the rear case and rotate it to 180°.
Attention : Do not remove the case entirely! A cable secures it to the rest of the joystick.
Gently grab the rear case cable and disconnect it.
The rear case of the Dualshock 4 joystick is now removed.
Grab the battery and disconnect the joystick.
Remove the battery.
The battery is now disassembled.
Grab the R1 button and gently flip it to the right to remove it.
A small metallic piece located on the right part of the button is being used as a spring. Make sure not to lose it during the process.
The R1 button is now disassembled.
With a nylon spuder, gently pry to remove the R2 button.
The R1 and R2 buttons of the Dualshock 4 joystick are now disassembled.
You can replace them if needed.
To remove the L1 and L2 buttons, repeat the steps 7 and 8 of this guide.
To reassemble your Dualshock controller (Playstation 4) follow this guide in reverse order.
