In 1991, Sony made their entrance onto the video game market, selling, producing, and developing both video games and gaming consoles. Sony gaming consoles, sold under the brand name PlayStation, have lead the market for home consoles since the release of the first PlayStation in 1994.
Since 2004, the PlayStation range has been accompanied by the portable consoles PSP. This portable console was one of the first to offer a gaming quality close to home consoles, and to offer music and video playing capabilities via memory stick.
