Step 1

Before you start disassembling the upper plastic element of your Nintendo 2DS, it is necessary for obvious security reasons, to make sure that the console is off.

If this is not the case, press the ignition button for a few seconds and then switch off the console.

Step 2

Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the two screws circled in red to hold the console battery cover.

Then remove the battery cover.

Step 3

Use the nylon spatula to gently lift the console battery.

To do this, insert the spatula in the gap located on the lower part of the battery then lever to extract it.

Then remove the battery.

The battery of your Nintendo 2DS is now disassembled.

Step 4

Use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the 10 screws circled in red to hold the back shell on the console.

Then grasp the back shell and lift it very gently without removing it.

A tablecloth connects the back shell to the rest of the console! Be careful not to force it out.

Step 5

Remove the back shell of the console on the right side.

Using the nylon spatula, unlock the connector on the connecting wire of the rear cameras.

Step 6

Then gently pull on the connecting web of the rear cameras and then remove the back shell.

The back cover of your Nintendo 2DS is now disassembled.

Step 7

Use pliers to grab and remove the right side element of the console.

The right side element of your Nintendo 2DS is now disassembled.

Step 8

Then enter the R button and carefully remove it.

Be careful not to lose the little spring present on the button when removing it from the console!

Step 9

Use the clip to grab and remove the left side of the console.

The left side element of your Nintendo 2DS is now disassembled.

Step 10

Then grab the WiFi card and then disconnect it from the motherboard.

The WiFi antenna is still connected to the WiFi card! Do not remove the card yet.

Step 11

Reuse the nylon spatula to gently disconnect the WiFi antenna connector.

Remove the WiFi card with the clip.

The WiFi card of your Nintendo 2DS is now disassembled.

Step 12

Still with the pliers, grab the WiFi antenna and remove it.

The WiFi antenna of your Nintendo 2DS is now disassembled.

Step 13

Enter the L button on the console and remove it.

Be careful not to lose the little spring present on the button when removing it from the console!

The L button on your Nintendo 2DS is now disassembled.

Step 14

Take the Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the 13 screws circled in red to hold the motherboard.

With the nylon spatula, then unlock the connector of the analog joystick pad.

Step 15

Using the tip of the nylon spatula, pull the connecting web of the analog joystick out of its connector.

Then use this spatula to unlock the first connector on the screen.

Step 16

Now unlatch the second connector on the screen with the spatula.

Use the tip of the spatula to pull the first sheet off the screen from its connector.

Step 17

Always with the tip of the nylon spatula, take out the second sheet of the screen from its connector.

Unlock the center console ribbon connector.

Step 18

Remove the center button ply from its connector with the tip of the nylon spatula.

Also unlock the ribbon connector of the touch screen.

Step 19

Again with the tip of a nylon spatula, pull the connecting web from the touch screen out of its connector.

Then unlock the ribbon connector from the backlight of the LCD.

Step 20

Using the nylon spatula, gently pull the tablecloth out of the LCD backlight.

Step 21

Gently grab the motherboard and then remove it.

The motherboard of your Nintendo 2DS is now disassembled.

Step 22

Grasp the plastic top member of the console and remove it.

Step 23

The upper plastic element of your Nintendo 2DS is now disassembled.

Replace it with a new one if necessary.

To reassemble your Nintendo 2DS follow this guide in reverse order.
