The Nintendo Switch is the new console from Nintendo after the lacklustre success of the Wii U compared to the Wii. It was released on the 3rd of March 2017, and is a real hybrid console that you can use in the living room or take with you wherever! Its strongest feature is the fact that it's both a portable and home console.
It has multiple parts and accessories, featuring mainly the 6.2" HD tablet that can be used on the go, even if you unclip the Joy Con>. This tablet can also be put in the dock> then used with the Joy Con or a classic controller.
The Switch can read dematerialised games as well as cartridges, providing some nostalgia since the Nintendo 64 .
For technical specifications, the Switch features a Nvidi Tegra chip, a Type-C USB port to recharge the console, and a jack plug to plug in headphones when you're in portable mode. It also has a USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports. Its internal memory is 32GB, but can be increased by up to 2 TB with a MicroSD card.
Colour-wise, it's available in black with either grey Joy Con or one blue and one red.
The Nintendo Switch is easily recognisable by is special logo on the dock stand, with the writing "Nintendo Switch" on the rear of the tablet.
